I really enjoy this game! It was short, but it was really nice and great story. Here is my video :)

I'd like to see this finished. It sets up a mysterious story, filled with tons of lore.

Many thanks for creating this!

Wow! What an amazing demo! Can't believe it's only the alpha! Great job! Can't wait for the full release!

This game scared the crap out of me. Cannot wait to get to play the whole thing. It's a really neat idea. The voice acting was stellar and super intriguing. I made a video of my playthrough and man oh man do I just lose it hahah

Fun as hell, and I'm always a sucker for folklore, being able to learn about it while also feeling like i'm a part of it is so awesome and unique. I totally want more of this...

Heya, got around to playing this game and it was pretty sweet :3

I literally loved the idea and the whole concept! You did a great job and i can't wait to play the full game!I also wanted to share my Let's Play with you xD

an interesting concept that does a little to subvert traditional horror tropes. It's also worth noting that this game has a little education in it that informs the player of traditional Swedish folklore. All in all I'm glad it got greenlit, and I can't wait to play the full game.

Unforgiving: A Nothern Hymn is a wonderfully atmospheric 'walking simulator' type experience. This game comes from some of the core team behind last years fantastically creepy 'Notes of Obsession'. It has just been Greenlit on Steam and we can't wait for the full release. The game has some great ideas, nice visuals, sharp sound design and an intriguing story line with real player urgency to see it through to the end. A must play for Horror fans and anyone who enjoys original concepts - a rareity in the horror genre these days.

Wondefully made horror!

SWEDISH NIGHTMARE ! | Unforgiving - A Northern Hymn 2017 Demo Gameplay Walkthrough

Unforgiving: A Northern Hymn is a horror demo that everyone should play if you're at all a fan of the horror genre!

While the demo doesn't allow you to interact fully with your environment, the game offers plenty of promise. The graphics and environment look GORGEOUS and is one of the prettier indie games to come out in a while. The characters and monsters that are featured in the game are really intriguing and offer lots of backstory for the developers to play with since they are based on Swedish mythology. The controls handled well and the soundtrack was arguably one of the best things about the game, retching up the intensity immensely.

I will say that the lack of a story for your character is a bit of a negative and the match lighting system needs a bit of work since it takes a bit too long to get a light going. But these "negatives" are VERY minor and can be easily fleshed out for the full game.

Seriously, if you're a fan of indie horror games, this demo is a must play and I am really looking forward to playing the full game once it is released.

I made a Let's Play of Unforgiving: A Northern Hymn, so feel free to check it out and let me know what you think!

This game is so cool! I absolutely love nordic(norse) mythology. I'm swedish myself and it was so cool to have the swedish voices in the game, the voice actors did a great job. I can't wait to see what you make of the full game, so far it's great!

Really good job with this.
Thank you! :D

A friend of mine introducted me to Notes of Obsession, and I'm glad she did! Otherwise I might not have known about this game! I was a little confused about what to do at the start, but that added to the scared, helpless feeling of the game. I can't wait for the full release! Thank you! :)

Amazing game, congratulations, waiting the full version :)

Awesome feel to the game, awesome gameplay and a great lore to discover!

Loved the potential this game shows! Amazing atmosphere and has a great base for an open ended story which is open for interpretation!

Just a short stroll in the surprisingly dark woods... Oh wait, is that a mine? Better go investigate!

Swedish horror is not one I want to mess with especially one that is from their folklore! This game had enticing atmosphere mixed in with eeirie and spooky elements that were really unsettling and making it a game I look forward to the full release of! Check out my experience of the game below!

Big or small, the jump scares in this game are on point! Even the sound of a bug buzzing was enough to set us on edge, which is exactly what we like in a spooky game! We're looking forward to the full game and will definitely play it when it comes out! In the meantime, we made a video about our experience! We'll post part two here when it's released! Great work!

Great game! I couldn't believe that this was put together by students. The graphics and textures were actually surprisingly good. If I am being honest I expect little from this game but was surprised by the amount of effort put into it. I would love to see what the story line is.

This was an excellent game and got my vote on greenlight! I can't wait to play more!!!! Here is my video! Definitely will follow on here and gamejolt, but just a heads up, the downloadable files on here have been corrupted! I got the game off of gamejolt!

Great game, I got lost early on, but once I got on track the game kicked into a higher gear, and got me really interested to see more, can't wait for the finished game!
